About this test
The GPS test uses the Geolocation API to show your coordinates, accuracy radius, altitude, speed and heading, and plots each update so you can see how much the position wanders. High-accuracy mode uses satellite GPS on phones; laptops usually rely on Wi-Fi positioning. Your location is never sent to our server.
How to use this test
- Press Find my location and allow access.
- Wait for the first fix and watch the accuracy improve.
- Move outdoors or near a window if accuracy stays above 50 m.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my location hundreds of metres off?
Without GPS hardware the browser estimates position from Wi-Fi or IP address, which is much less precise.
Is my location stored?
No. It is shown only on this page and is not sent anywhere.
