About this test
The speed test opens several parallel connections to our server to fill your line, measures throughput every quarter second and ignores the slow start so the result reflects your sustained speed. It then measures upload the same way. Compare the result with your plan, and test on cable and Wi-Fi to find bottlenecks.
How to use this test
- Pause downloads, streaming and cloud backups.
- Press Start speed test and wait about 25 seconds.
- Compare download and upload with the speed in your internet plan.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the result lower than my plan?
Wi-Fi, a busy network, an old router or distance to the server can all reduce speed. Test with a cable directly to the router.
How much data does the test use?
Usually 50–500 MB depending on your speed. The data used is shown during the test.
